The perfect balance between sweet and sour with a foamy, textured head. The same recipe can be used with scotch instead of bourbon for a punchier, smokier taste.
It, like the negroni, is so simple yet distinct that it has spawned a collection of twists, including the Amaretto Sour, Pisco Sour, Mezcal Sour and Midori Sour.
You'll need...

Glass: Lowball

50ml Bourbon

Egg white from 1/2 egg

12.5ml sugar syrup

25ml lemon juice

Orange Slice

Measure out and pour the bourbon, sugar syrup and lemon juice into a shaker tin.

Separate the egg white from one medium-sized egg and add to the tin
-
Add lots of ice and shake HARD

Single strain the drink into a glass over ice

Garnish with an orange slice
